Health Care and Measles Update 2015

Image
I have been writing this health care blog since 2007, and have published over 465 articles in the last eight years—sort of a Health Care 101 on all types of health care issues. For the most part, not too many of those have been updated with a follow up report—until this one. In 2012, I wrote an article about measles. With the recent outbreak in the US of this disease, just about wiped out fifteen years ago with only a few cases reported per year, has merited that this health care issue be re-examined. Late last year, new cases of this very infectious disease started showing up. Since then, the number of measles cases in the United States has reached 141 patients in 17 states and the District of Columbia, federal health officials from the CDC have reported. The outbreak began at two Disney theme parks in southern California in December, the CDC says, and it's believed that the source of the infection was likely a foreign visitor or a U.S. resident returning from abroad. PUSH THROUGH THE PAIN

Image
I am not talking about pain that does not feel right when performing an exercise but what I am referring to is the emotional and mental pain that will enter each of our lives through differing circumstances.  Whether we are suffering crisis from a family member being ill, a death, divorce, or financial strain due to a job loss, these types of stressful situations can cause us to not take care of ourselves as we place health and fitness on the back burner.  We get so wrapped up in the pain of the event with our minds consumed, our emotional banks drained, and the energy to even put one foot in front of the other feeling like an impossible task. The burden feels heavy and the world can seem bigger than we are.  It will be in these moments where taking care of ourselves through exercise and eating right is even more important, and often times pushing through the pain even when we do not want to will be what keeps us healthy emotionally and physically. It will not be easy and I share this

Health Care and Diabetes

One of the fastest growing health issues worldwide is diabetes. People with type 1 diabetes today lose more than a decade of life to the chronic disease, despite improved treatment of both diabetes and its complications, a new Scottish study reports. Men with type 1 diabetes lose about 11 years of life expectancy compared to men without the disease. And, women with type 1 diabetes have their lives cut short by about 13 years, according to a report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.   Glucose (blood sugar) is vital to your health because it's an important source of energy for the cells that make up your muscles and tissues, according to the Mayo Clinic. It's also your brain's main source of fuel. If you have diabetes, no matter what type, it means you have too much glucose in your blood, although the causes may differ. Too much glucose can lead to serious health problems. Chronic diabetes conditions include type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Po

Protection Order Against SMRT Ltd (Feedback)

So... As you guys know I'm constantly being harassed by the entity called SMRT (Ltd) Feedback. Most of you probably don't know the extensive nature of it. I've been harassed by them, more or less nonstop, since 2012. One of the first posts about me Every now and then they will throw in some snide comment about me if they feel like it. I've pretty much ignored them for years now.  (29 Nov 2012) Sometimes I retailiate, but for what? It just gives them more ammunition to continue. It makes them more popular and more obnoxious. Since they are anonymous, there is nothing much I can do about it. Defend myself? For every defense they come up with another accusation/insult. I defend until when? Sue them for defamation? Serve the papers... on who? Find out their identity? I'm sorry but I have no idea how to go about doing that.   After their Exposé Part 1.5 about me, I have resigned myself to the fact that their relentless taunting, accusations and insults are simply thin
